About Our Beef.
Our beef cattle are never fed growth-promoting antibiotics or hormones. We feed our beef cattle quality Vermont-grown haylage and corn silage, along with brewer’s grain and apple pomace* which comes from Vermont breweries! We believe in raising the healthiest beef cow as possible so our customers can enjoy a nutritious beef product.
*Apple pomace and brewers grain are very high in fermentable sugars which results in quick spoilage. If left in a field or on a concrete pad the run-off could end up in nearby waterways, leading to nutrient pollution. Feeding apple pomace & brewers grain to beef cattle is a great way to reduce waste & pollution.
Our Beef is All-Natural.
High-Quality Vermont Beef.
Boissoneault Farm was established in 1971 by George & Mary Boissoneault. The farm initially began as a conventional dairy farm and was once up to 500 head of dairy cattle. In 2014 the family made a very difficult decision to sell their dairy herd and stop all dairy production due to the unpredictable price fluctuations of the dairy market and other factors. After selling their dairy herd they looked for another way to utilize the farm’s infrastructure, pastures, and cropland.
Boissoneault Beef was started by Jeff Boissoneault and his son Cody Boissoneault in 2017. Boissoneault Beef’s products can now be found at restaurants all throughout Saint Albans and they continue to expand their reach throughout Vermont. Boissoneault Beef’s mission is to provide their customers with the highest quality of beef products in Vermont at an affordable price!
